Recently, I had to hurry for work and I forgot to put sunscreen on, then I got sunburns all over my face. I tried every possible way but the pain and irritation were so severe that I had to try some methods in order to get rid of them. And today I am going to share some with you so these may help you whenever you get caught with some problem with having accurate solutions for them.

While going out, it is a must that you apply sunscreen/sunblock all over the area of skin that is in direct exposure to the sun. As when UV rays fall on the skin, it damages the skin and causes irritation, tanning, redness, and many more faults to the skin. Sun contains more amount of helium gas that is very harmful to human skin.

So when you apply Sunscreen, it protects the skin from damage and makes a shield making less penetration of UV rays and pollution causing no harm to the skin. You will feel a lot better with sunscreen on your face. It lessens the sweat too makes your skin look fresh for long times.

2. Avoid Using Direct Makeup On The Face

When you apply direct makeup on your skin, the by-products may tend to cause harm to your face including redness, irritation, inked marks, and all. So, before applying makeup, You should apply a good moisturizer and serum that suits your skin type. This will help the products to get more effects on your face and will look more good.

Also, try to use light makeup in summers as we get more sweat because of that. And when sweat and makeup get mixed, you know what happens!! yuck, right? So, try using less makeup, more often use CC creams, BB creams as a base then you can cover that with some face powder that matches your skin tone.

3. Drink Water As Much As You Can

Drinking water is the solution to almost all problems of our body rather that is internal or external. Our body is made up of 70% water. In order to maintain that in our body, we need to make sure we drink 8-10 liters of water in a single day. It helps to get clear, healthy skin too.

Water helps us dealing with sunburns too, when Sun attacks our skin, rays get directly into the skin and we are dehydrated, we cannot bear the intensity of UV rays. But when we are hydrated, our body and skin feel fine all the time.

Also, you should drink glucose, soft drinks in summers to keep yourself hydrated. This will help you a lot more in getting tan free and fresh skin.

4. Take Painkillers When Needed

When things get worse, our face starts to burn and that thing becomes unbearable. So only in that case you are required to take painkillers. For pain relief, you can have ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others) or naproxen sodium (Aleve) as soon as possible after sun exposure.

Some pain relievers are gels that you apply to your skin. Cool the skin. Apply to the affected skin a clean towel dampened with cool tap water.

5. Take Cold Showers More Often

 One of the easiest ways to treat inflammation is to cool down the affected area. An effective way to immediately help sunburn, even while you’re still outside, is to hop in the water, whether it’s an ocean, lake, or stream. Dipping in and out throughout the day can help keep sunburn from worsening.

Be wary of pools, as chlorinated water can irritate the skin more. You should also avoid directly applying ice. Although it may look appealing when your skin is burning, it could actually cause even more damage to your extra-sensitive sunburned skin.

Always bath with cold water even in winters too. It helps our body to stay fresh and fight against the harmful rays.

6. Use Homemade Traditional Masks

Homemade masks are very effective in treating sunburns. We hear this from our moms too, right ?? Like they say use tomato mask in a week, potato + rosewater mask, Honey and lemon mask, etc. These ingredients have amazing properties of treating them in a fast way.

You can also use the masks that are available on market. You can directly apply them to the face after washing it. These help in minimizing skin damage and irritation caused by sunburns.
